Mind and Body Ballet Coaching

Holistic coaching for young dancers

Are you the parent of an aspiring dancer that sometimes struggles to perform at their very best?

Is it their technique, their strength or their nerves? Or maybe all three?

Imagine them stepping into their next comp, exam, show or audition strong, technically sharp, and mentally ready!

Contact Charlotte today to help them improve their technique, strength AND mindset.

Sometimes dancers can have all the talent in the world, but something is still holding them back. If they dance better in the studio than they do on stage, it could be nerves or self-doubt creeping in right when it matters most.

Mind and Body Ballet Coaching with Charlotte looks at the whole picture - training the mindset as well as teaching technique and conditioning, so every dancer can perform with confidence when it counts.

If you'd like to know how I can help your dancer, why not drop us a message via the contact form below, with a brief outline of what they're currently struggling with.

Student Success

Real stories of progress, growth, and the transformative power of mind and body ballet coaching.

"Charlotte Wheeler is an exceptional  ballet instructor whose expertise and dedication shine through in the children's genuine love for ballet. She focuses on developing strong, high-quality technique, ensuring her students build good habits that support healthy, resilient bodies capable of meeting ballet's demands in the future. Charlotte has a remarkable ability to bring out the best in each child, nurturing their individual strengths and skills. Under her guidance, I've seen a significant improvement in my daughter's technique and overall performance quality."

"I was struggling with my penche in ballet because I lacked stability and my hip placement wasn't correct. This made it difficult to hold the position and achieve the height I wanted. Charlotte guided me through a peaceful visualisation exercise where I lay down with my eyes closed. She talked me through every part of performing a penche, explaining what each part of my body should be doing and where to focus my attention. It was very calming and helped me understand the movement in a different way. When I tried my penche afterwards, I noticed an immediate improvement. I felt much more stable, didn't wobble, and my leg reached a higher position. I also felt more confident and focused while performing the movement. "

Sophie - Student

"My daughter struggles to process verbal instructions and corrections. Although very flexible, she had a lack of strength so I was advised to find a PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) instructor. I was concerned that she might find the sessions overwhelming but Charlotte has been brilliant with her from the start. She is extremely knowledgeable and explains things in a way she understands, which really gets her to think about how the exercises should feel in the body. Charlotte has helped her progress at her own pace and is always very encouraging which puts her at ease. Both myself and my daughter's teachers have noticed a huge improvement in both her technique and confidence since starting with Charlotte. Her posture is much better and she corrects herself using the skills learnt in her sessions. We are so grateful to have found Charlotte, and look forward to seeing a continued improvement with her help."

How does coaching with Charlotte work?

I teach students on a 1-1 basis from my fully equipped home studio in Solihull, West Midlands. Sessions are individually tailored to meet your needs. Depending on what you want to work on, lessons will typically include (but are not limited to) strength & conditioning, PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique), targeted exercises to improve turnout, flexibility, pointe work, pre-pointe, performance psychology, mindset work and visualisation to improve performance in all areas. From time to time I run group workshops - details will become available when the next plans are underway.

What age/level do you teach?

For 1-1's all ages or levels are welcome from recreational to pre-vocational. For group workshops, a minimum of grade 3 ballet is required.

Will I be entered for exams?

No. I don't enter my students for exams, comps or shows. All the work we do is to enhance what you're already learning at your dance school.

What if I'm not local?

We can arrange sessions over Zoom.

Do I need a uniform?

There is no formal uniform but as alignment and posture is an important element that we work on, baggy clothes would not be helpful to me or the student.

Is it just for ballet dancers?

Mind and Body Ballet Coaching with Elevate Motion will also help with contemporary, lyrical, modern and jazz styles as the fundamental strength, technique and mindset principles remain the same for these styles.

How much are the sessions?

£35 for 45mins

£40 for 1hr

Meet Your Coach - Charlotte

Dance has been part of my life for nearly 50 years - as a cabaret performer but mostly as a ballet teacher. Alongside performing and teaching, I've spent time working in the mental health and education sector.

After years of wearing many different hats in life, I created Elevate Motion as a way to bring everything I've learned together in one place.

I've spent decades watching young dancers grow, not just in skill, but in how they view themselves, how much they trust their bodies and how much confidence they're willing to let themselves feel.

Somewhere along the way, I noticed that so much of what holds young dancers back isn't just technique, it's the stories that have been wired into their sub-conscious while they dance. A well meaning but poorly worded correction, a disappointing exam result or competition placing, an injury that that's preventing them from pushing themselves further.

My coaching combines 30 years of ballet teaching with counselling skills and a diploma in clinical hypnotherapy, to produce a holistic approach that helps dancers overcome these obstacles to become the best version of themselves.
